Thank you for your interest in the UNLV McNair and Title III AANAPISI Scholars Summer Research Institute (SRI). SRI provides an opportunity for faculty to obtain support to maintain their research agendas over the summer by mentoring undergraduate students through the research process. Through the SRI, students typically work with faculty on existing research projects and contribute to the creation of new projects. The experience serves to facilitate partnerships between students and faculty to help students gain insight into research at UNLV.
Faculty who mentor students receive a stipend of $750 (per student mentee) that is deposited in an NSHE faculty research/lab account. Typically, funds are directed toward equipment and travel to support and enhance the research occurring over the summer and into the Fall semester. In order for the funds to be transferred appropriately, faculty or departments must have a 2220 or 2221 account with line 39 activated.
