Thomas Wilson Community Service Award:

This is a call for nominations for the UNLV Alliance of Professionals of African Heritage (APAH) Thomas Wilson Community Service Award. Two awards will be presented at the 29th Annual Awards Ceremony hosted by APAH, on Friday, May 16, 2014, at 6:30 p.m. in the UNLV Student Union Ballroom.

The Thomas Wilson Community Service Award is presented to students of African heritage based on the criteria of community service and academic achievement.

Please fill out the nominating application for any UNLV student of African heritage whom you believe warrants this distinct recognition and ask any student you nominate to complete the nominee’s portion of this application and to submit electronically to caeo.unlv.edu/alliance.html.If you have any questions, address your concerns to Dr. Porter Lee Troutman, Jr., Chair of the Thomas E. Wilson Award Committee, at porter.troutman@unlv.edu.  The deadline to submit all forms is 5:00 p.m., Friday, May 1, 2015.

Roosevelt Fitzgerald Outstanding Student Award:

The UNLV Alliance of Professionals of African Heritage (APAH) is accepting nominations for its Roosevelt Fitzgerald Outstanding Student Award in Academic Achievement and Leadership.  This award is presented to students of African heritage in good standing, based on academic performance, campus leadership, and university participation.  The awards will be presented during the 29th Annual APAH Awards Ceremony scheduled for Friday, May 14th, 2015, at 6:30 PM, in UNLV Student Union Ballroom.  The recipient will receive a UNLV Bookstore Award. 

Complete the attached nominator’s form for any UNLV student of African heritage whom you believe warrants this high distinction.  Please ask any student you nominate to complete the nominee’s portion of this application and submit via email to caeo.unlv.edu/alliance.html.  If you have any questions, address your concerns to Dr. Esther Langston, Chair of the Roosevelt Fitzgerald Award Committee, at esther.langston@unlv.edu.  Please request your nominee to send their form separately to the same location.  The deadline to submit all forms is Friday, May 1, 2015.
