Military Outreach Program (MOP)


What is the MOP Program?


The Military Outreach Program (MOP) is a collaborative effort between the University of Nevada Las Vegas’ Center for Academic Enrichment & Outreach’s Adult Educational Services (AES) Program, Nellis Air Force Base, the US Army Reserve and the US National Guard.  The Military Outreach Program (MOP) targets enlisted personnel and their families to provide educational guidance on the admissions and financial aid process for entrance into a program of post-secondary education.

The AES MOP Program is designed to assist this population in evaluating previous coursework and finding a compatible institution of higher learning to continue with their educational goals and objectives



Services provided through the MOP program include:
  • College Application Assistance (admission application fee waivers to qualified servicemen and servicewomen applying for entrance to UNLV)
  • Financial Aid Application Assistance (Free Application for Federal Student Aid – FAFSA)
  • Scholarship Search Assistance
  • Career Planning
  • Study Skills Development Workshops
  • Computer Literacy Workshops
  • Tutoring
  • Referrals to Community Agencies
  • GED pre-testing and referral services to family members of enrolled service men and women

All services are provided at the UNLV – Nellis Campus Office location and are free of charge to all service men/women and their families.
