Ways To Give

There are many ways to support The Center, some of which may even allow donors to provide more than they realize.

As we look to the future, a continued relationship with our community partners will enable us to provide students with the highest quality of instruction, modern facilities, a vibrant co-curricular program, and substantial tuition assistance. Invest in our students. Invest in our future!

Types of Giving

Through The Center there are a variety of ways community partners may tailor their giving to meet their philanthropic objectives as well as the needs of the community. The following are some ways to make generous gifts to The Center:

Charitable Gifts
Charitable gifts are outright gifts that transfer immediately. Below are some examples of outright gifts:

Cash Gifts
The simplest method of giving is to send a personal check.
Securities
When you give long-term appreciated securities to Caltech, not only do you receive an income tax deduction equal to the fair market value of your securities, but you also avoid capital gains taxes on the transfer. For instructions on transferring securities, please see our stock delivery instructions.

Personal Property
Paintings, library books or musical instruments make excellent gifts.

Real Property

A residence or other real property may be given as an outright gift.

If you have any questions on making a charitable gift, contact the Development Office 702.774.4136

Matching Gifts
Many alumni, parents, and friends work for companies who generously contribute to organizations such as The Center through their Employee Matching Gift Programs. Typically, these companies will match or double match the gifts you make to The Center through these programs. Inquire with your company about whether or not they offer this wonderful program and double or triple the gifts you make to the participants of The Center. If you need assistance in this area, please contact The Center’s Development Office at 702.774.4136.

Payroll Gifts
Making a donation directly from your pay is a simple way of making regular tax-effective gifts to The Center. Usually gifts are deducted from your taxable income but Payroll gifts allow you to give from your pay before tax is deducted. If you have any questions on making a payroll gift, contact the Development Office 702.774.4136

In-kind Gifts
In-kind gifts are gifts of services or goods made directly to The Center. In-kind gift items and professional services are needed throughout the year and help us to meet our GEAR UP grant requirements. If you have any questions on making an in-kind gift, contact the Development Office 702.774.4136
