Alden D. Kelly

Alden Kelley was born in Stamford, Connecticut and is one of six boys. In the summer of 2001, he moved to Henderson, Nevada along with his family. Alden was accepted into the UNLV McNair Scholars Institute in Spring 2005. In December 2005, he graduated from UNLV with honors with a degree in Political Science.

Alden serves as treasurer for the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, and is a member of Pi Sigma Alpha, the honorary society for political science majors. He is also a member of the Consolidated Students of the University of Nevada Judicial Council, and most recently, was nominated and accepted into the Empire Who’s Who, a national network of executives and professionals. In the Spring of 2005, the Alliance of Professional of African Heritage at UNLV awarded him the Thomas Wilson Community Service Award.

He was very active in McNair and completed his research project on “African-Americans in the Political Process.” His goal is to pursue Master’s and Doctorate degrees in Political Science.
